Justin Bieber was performing for adults who preferred Lightfoot with his guitar on him, he will have to stick with kids who can easily be fooled by some light works and enhanced vocals by special mixers.

Poor planning, what were they thinking? If they wanted to please all ages and music genre why didn't they invite the South Korean, Psy and his international hit, Gangnam. And if he invited PM Harper on stage, okay, and Mayor Ford, the crowd would have gone wild beyond anything Bieber could imagine.

Being on the wisdom side of sixty I have never heard a Bieber song, but when people booed, I was embarrassed. It was indeed boorish.

Be happy people! Try to be a little happy and cut the negativity. Bieber is a top selling artist - he's a Canadian - he CHOSE to take part when he could have said no. Let's have a few rounds of applause for that one because no matter how many people whine, he is a big name entertainer and he did appeal to a segment of what will be the future CFL fans. Everyone has different taste - some wanted Celine or Shania and there would have been witching about either of them from those haters. The Grey Cup was a great game. Well put together. Toronto did a great job of putting on a show - kudos to all of them! Lets build them all up for a change with some positive energy instead of tearing them down because they weren't exactly what you 'like'.

I think that is what the CFL had in mind. They were probably hoping that your daughter, and thousands like her, would watch the game, at least until half time show. Personally I flicked between channels and watched the half time show. I don't remember hearing boo's when Bieber was on stage. I wanted to see Gordon Lightfoot, he is one of my all time Canadian singer/songwriters. My favorite, is Ann Murray.

This is what happens when you let pre-pubescant girls choose the acts for a football game. What demographic were they going for?
09:02 AM on 11/26/2012
Every demographic has to be targeted. The problem is that we cannot control one thing...aging. We have to pass the torch to the next generation to keep the CFL alive. It was a smart move to have Bieber sing, as he gave the CFL great exposure for the youth. How is it hard to see that reasoning? Not every marketer thinks to your needs only....

Justin B needs a new lyricist. Someone who can rise above the drivel. And a new wardrobe assistant while he's at it. His whole show lacks the creativity it deserves. His show is boring and predictable. Just another boy band. He should be a leader as was Michael Jackson. Take it up a level or two, Justin.

Was not a good fit. Just bcs it s a Canadian Big Name does not mean book them. Did it for the tv viewers...get those teeny boppers for a while. Having said that, booing in this circumstance is so déclassé.

The only reason I watched any football was to see Marianas Trench. Those guys were great despite your comments

After Gordon Lightfoot and Carly Rae Jepsen, theirs was the third best performance during half time. ;-)

Come on......... J.B. was not the right choice for the gray cup. This is a place for older people who really do not care about him. Even so there really was no need for rudeness. No need to be booing him. He is an excellent singer but out of his ellement. He handled it very well. I am not a fan BUT then again I could not be bothered to watch the stupid game.

He's an excellent singer with autotune...not a JB fan, but I didn't boo, at least. CFL isn't everyone's cup of tea, but fan or not of football or sports in general, it was a great week and a great game for hometown fans.

They could have tried artists that football fans give a miniscule crap about. Just sayin. Teenage girls (the fan base for CRJ and Beibs) don't watch football. I imagine some like Lightfoot, but maybe Tragically Hip or any of the dozens of actual rock bands....

The one I want to see get boooed is Bettman, next time he makes that same insincere, sanctimonious "two great teams" speech before he presents the Stanley Cup. Mark Cohon showed how it's done.
