I want that so I can dress up as Predator, decloak in front of people and scare the bejeezus out of them!

This reflects the current state of research into transformation optics:

http://www.nature.com/nmat/journal/vaop/ncurrent/abs/nmat3476.html

ADHD version: They can bend microwaves around a 1cm^3 object in the lab.

Here come these fellas along and claim that they have a material that bends all manner of wavelengths of light completely around any object regardless of geometry. This is as about as likely to be true as finding anti-gravity boots in this year's Christmas stockings.

Bottom line: Just because something sounds cool, does not mean you should believe it.

If this is ture it would be useless as the enemy won't be able to see you and you won't see them since your bending light around you.

The Canadian Gov't would love to make it's submarines invisible, then maybe they could try and we could try, to forget them in the drydocks and the public might just forget the 100's of millions the fools spent on the totally useless British pieces of garbage!

It's a Canadian plot. Once we've made all your guns and bombs invisible you won't be able to find them and then finally we'll have world peace.
12:48 PM on 12/13/2012
This is clearly a hoax, good job of perpetuating it Huffpost.

It's good to be invisible in a tank, submarine, or an aircraft??? Give me a break !!

Goto the website. These photos are 'mock-ups' to demonstrate how the material would work, not the actual product... Story seems totally bogus.

This story smells funny, but is sure popular with the kiddies, especially when you slap "Canadian" on the tag-line. Gives some people a sense of false comfort too in the face of military technology advances in other countries. Don't believe everything you read on the Internet.

Yes I heard the Taliban recently domesticated the horse and are on schedule to emerge from the bronze age and develop lances and crossbows. With all that poppy money they'll have a zeppelin program in no time.

Wasn't "an invisible Canadian Army" pretty much the state of affairs *before* this technology was invented?

So if you drop it, how do you find it again? How will you find anything? It'll be like Wonder Woman running around the airport looking for her invisible jet

So will the Canadian military actually buy Canadian technology??
10:48 AM on 12/13/2012
If it works, the Canadian Gov't. could quietly take it out to the middle of one of the great lakes and do what they did with the Avro Arrow, need I say more.
