Lies , Deception, No Exception...

I dont get how people even like harper at all. Everything is just failure after failure, lies and more lies. I'm pretty sure hes done next to nothing positive or beneficial for our country. I wonder if he actually understands that a government is supposed to make good decisions and progress the country in a way that the people generally want..

Conservatives are not voting for conservatives, they are voting against Socialist policies and Liberals and against the rest of us. They have no idea what any of the parties stand for but they will still vote conservative.

The goal of the corporatists is to remove the commons from the legislative equation. Mr Harper's straussian beliefs afford him that foray into social regression.

=============
"It is the nature of privileged position that it develops its own political justification and often the economic and social doctrine that serves it best." John Kenneth Galbraith, 1996
=============
What say you, Edward Bernays, father of the public relations industry and double nephew of Sigmund Freud?
"The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country." - Edward Bernays, Propaganda (1928). The rest of the quote is here - http://www.historyisaweapon.com/defcon1/bernprop.html
=============
The Economist on proroging parliament..: "Mr Harper is a competent tactician with a ruthless streak. He bars most ministers from talking to the media; he has axed some independent watchdogs; he has binned campaign promises to make government more open and accountable. Now he is subjecting Parliament to prime-ministerial whim. He may be right that most Canadians care more about the luge than the legislature, but that is surely true only while their decent system of government is in good hands. They may soon conclude that it isn't."

Wakey wakey Citizens.

Well another poll, this one from the righty SNN and Abacus, so if the leader of the opposition is only 3 points back, in reality the opposition must be 5 points ahead, as this was an on-line poll for SNN.
Then again the polls mean nothing really, at this point!

Last sentence says it all. Let's not turn into Americans here. Finishing one election and then watching polls for four years instead of actually talking about what we can do with our government, no matter who may be in power.

If it was a coalition NDP/Liberal then they would iron it out and Harpergeddon would never be in power again. Too many lines have been crossed. It's time political parties had the country at heart.

I think there was a recent article that said generation Y is more interested in specific issues than in party affiliation. This augers well for election reform. I would like to see a coalition of NDP, Liberals, Green,and Conservatives that have demonstrated a commitment to democracy commit to creating this new structure.

If that is the case than presenting issues will play a bigger role in who is elected next than bully political tactics at election time. - providing of course that Gen Y intends to actually vote.

Yes, that's the key. If younger Canadians don't have a sense of ownership in their own vote then everything will keep crumbling

No chance of that happening.
The libs are seeing their fortunes back on the rise and figure they stand a good chance of regaining official opposition status
The NDP figure they can beat the house.
And never the twain shall meet.

It wouldn't matter they will still vote conservative no matter what, they will justify and make excuses, their egos wont let them admit they were wrong.

Insanity is not geographically dependent. Neither is stupidity. but we all have it within ourselves to say insane/stupid/divise things.

I beg to differ. Quebec votes primarily NDP, PQ or BQ. Ergo - the definition of insanity..
