Is there enough time and room to put all that on the half copper penny before they toss it?

this has a certain air of kumbaya to it but im sure they mean well. I wouldn't mind just sticking with PMs, although the snowman image sounds cute (and fitting at the moment).

Why put anything on the bills? Just the denomination would be fine. Remove the Queen as well.

My Canada Includes Everyone

I want the currency of my country to reflect the diversity of my country. This means the natural landscape as well as the ethnic make up. We are what we are. We should not hide it.

I agree with having only natural scenes and wildlife on our bills. No disrespect, but it's also time the Queen was no longer on our money.

This isn't a controversy among Canadians, just something furthered by the LSM to attract attention.
02:24 PM on 02/10/2013
We cannot depict people of color because we need the notes to be "ethnicity neutral".
WHAT?!?!
I find this absurd and mildly disturbing. Caucasian does not = ethnicity neutral. Caucasian = an "ethnicity". If anything, the bank notes should be representative of the variety of ethnicities that make up the population of Canada! That means people of color as well as caucasians!

What currency controversy? Sound like a rational process to me. Calm down HP.

Sometimes political correctness goes too far. They shouldn't even put people on our currency. Why not show the natural beauty of Canada? Animals, plants, mountains, rivers, wildlife, etc

That's controversial because environmentalists like nature

Under no circumstances should the currency pictures reflect special interests. General Canadiana is fine.

I wonder if any of the $479,000 'spent' on this exercise went to 'flathurry'---because he did make the 'final' decisions as $$$minister!!!

Forget people. The theme for Canada's currency should be conservation, including pictures of our beautiful land, plants and animals.

What we take for granted today may not be here for our children. Endangered species deserve more than recognition. As a world leader, we need to depict the value of life to promote genuine discussion of sustainability, accountability and continuity.

That's my two cents. Sorry, make that a nickel.

Images on the currency aren't as important to me as whether the currency actually holds value while wages stagnate. It would be good to know that when the day comes that you can no longer work, a loaf of bread would still cost around two bucks instead of twenty or two hundred.

Other than that use Canadian tire money for currency with a picture of Sam Walton and Mao Tse Tung on the covers.
