Hardworking. Driven. Tenacious. Natural Communicator. These are just a few of the words that can be used to describe Emerald Bensadoun. Emerald is a journalist from Toronto, Ontario. Fascinated by governance and policy, Emerald aspires to one day play a pivotal role in political journalism.

A recent Carleton University grad, the elements of Emerald's program have enhanced her writing, critical and strategic thinking skills in ways which allow her to implement creative strategies that are carefully aligned to the current, political, media-driven environment. Emerald is currently pursuing a second degree in journalism studies at Ryerson University, where she hopes to cultivate transferable and marketable skills in interviewing, critical thinking and research.

Achievement oriented, in less than one year Emerald has quickly risen in her field and was hired by Ryerson University for the position of online editor. Additionally, Emerald is the managing editor of McClung’s Magazine, a feminist magazine based out of Toronto.

Thriving in a fast-paced environment, Emerald hopes to find herself in a place where she can use her creativity, existing skills and knowledge to solve the challenging problems facing Canadian politics, society, and institutions.
