The Best Instagram Dogs to Follow

Warning: Puppy love ahead. 🐶

You can find almost anything on Instagram: photos that provoke wanderlust, photos that inspire a new take on dinner, even photos of women who proudly show us all what a real body looks like.

Now it’s time for photos of dogs that’ll fill your feed with humor. Some of these accounts are wildly popular, while others are less known. But all of them do the same thing: consistently post high-quality photos of really adorable, really funny canines.

These pups will tug at your heartstrings and force you to crack a smile even on the toughest of days. That’s just when we all need a puppy, anyway.

Tonkey makes Instagram a better place. This bear coat Shar Pei has 398,000 followers, and we think her remarkably bulbous and bearlike snout might have something to do with it.
We dare you to keep a straight face while looking at Agador, the self-proclaimed "Bob Ross of Dogs." Agador's hair is truly wild, thanks to his owners who keep it in shape, and good genes: He's a Maltipoo, a cross between a Maltese and a poodle.
Meet Yoji, a Whippet from Berlin, Germany. This cool Instagram account is a series of minimalist photographs with Yoji at the center.
You can really see each dog's spirit in the portraits captured on The Dogist Instagram account. The documentary-style feed captivates 2.4 million followers and is run by Elias Weiss Friedman, author of the best selling book, The Dogist: Photographic Encounters with 1,000 Dogs.
Sprout, a tiny smooth-coat Brussels Griffon living in New York City, knows good style. If Sprout was a human, it is possible he might also be a fashion editor. Follow along for great photography and even better dog outfits.

Samson, a golden retriever and poodle mix (also known as a goldendoodle), blows us away with his obedience and old soul. It's not unusual to see this Brooklyn-dwelling pooch reading the Sunday Styles, catching up on e-mail or hitting the gym for a quick workout.

Samson's Instagram has a bit more than 150,000 followers, and he's a good find for the puppy-obsessed: Quality photography and creative posts make him an entertaining dog to follow.

A post shared by Marnie The Dog (@marniethedog) on

Marnie, a 15-year-old Shih Tzu with a very long tongue, is one of the most popular rescue dogs on Instagram. Animal Control found her matted and unclaimed in Connecticut when she was 11; shelter caretakers thought she was blind in her left eye and nicknamed her "Stinky" for her truly bad odor.

Marnie's family adopted her anyway. Her odor went away after a vet removed 14 decaying teeth. And it turns out she wasn't blind at all -- shortly after Marnie was adopted, the cloudy grayness in her left eye cleared up.

From homeless adult dog to happy New York City pup with 2.1 million Instagram followers, Marnie will remind you about the power of animal adoption. And she'll brighten your day.

This is me laughing about how the truck will smell when I hop in.

Kelly Lund and his pet Loki have one mission: To inspire people to explore their world and make memories with their dog.

Photographs of Loki, a husky/Arctic wolf/malamute mix, going sledding, camping and chilling on a mountain top remind his 1.4 million followers that some breeds are just meant to be in the great outdoors.

Loki, you look good in the snow.
Meet Tuna, the ultimate underdog who has captured 1.8 million hearts. Courtney Dasher rescued Tuna at a Los Angeles farmer's market in December 2010. Tuna is a Chihuahua and dachshund crossbred, also known as a Chiweenie, who has a notable overbite and recessed jawline.

Dasher's Instagram feed for Tuna raises awareness for rescue dogs and Tuna's message that "true beauty comes in all forms and radiates from within."

A post shared by Doug The Pug (@itsdougthepug) on

To follow Doug the Pug is to love him. Would it be weird if we said we also want to be his friend?

Just look at the personality on this guy: He listens to great music, chills out with wine and totally gets how we feel before we've had our first cup of coffee.

Roughly 2.4 million people follow the exploits of Doug, also known as "The King of Pop Culture." And if you like to color as a way to relax (or hey, if you just like to color), you can buy Doug the Pug's best selling coloring book, which is based on his adventures.
