I believe that it's important to have these types of support systems in the various facets of your life. Often, one group of friends will be able to provide the support and understanding that you need in most situations. However, there are times when you go through a difficult time at work and having people you can bounce solutions off of, or who will understand the situation without much explanation is helpful. I often get exasperated in trying to explain the complexities of my workplace to others.

I am beyond thankful that I have such a group. A group that has, in fact, also become integral in my personal life. Without each other, I can safely say that none of us would be the people we are today. And so, this is for them - an open letter to my friends. I hope that it will inspire you to let your support system know how much they mean to you.

It's hard to imagine that it's been 18 months. Not because that's a long time, but rather, it's such a short time, considering how our relationship has developed. From relationships starting to relationships ending, from four hugs a day to the worst work hangover ever, and from work-related drama to Stanley Cup riots, we've been through (almost) everything.

I believe that we're in a special and unique situation; that the stars aligned so perfectly for us to come together. We were all in search of something more and found each other so that we could create it. And we did. We have contributed so much to the place that brought us all together, and contributed so much to each other's lives.

The winds of change are upon us. For the first time, we start going our separate ways. It's weird, exciting, and scary. I see how far we've all come and how far we'll be able to go. And no matter where we end up working, where we end up living, we will always have each other, the time we've spent together, and the times we've yet to share.
