'One Thousand Mustaches' Looks At Mo's Cultural Renaissance (PHOTOS)

'One Thousand Mustaches' Looks At Mo's Cultural Renaissance (PHOTOS)

A new book from Toronto-based author/male grooming expert Allan Peterkin examines how the mustache is enjoying a cultural renaissance -- namely due to the global success of the Movember campaign.

One Thousand Mustaches: A Cultural History of the Mo, due for early September release from Vancouver's Arsenal Pulp Press, is both a "lighthearted cultural history and an earnest style manual," according to a release, looking at the story of the 'stache through the ages and its manifestations in politics, war, movies, music, sport, art and beyond.

Aside from the impact of Movember on the resurgence, it's also Hollywood heavyweights like Ryan Gosling and Ashton Kutcher with their retro/modern mo's that have made it hot again in popular culture.

Whether you're thinking about a handlebar, a Chevron, a Painter's Brush or Fu Manchu style, you can check them out in One Thousand Mustaches, which includes numerous photos and illustrations.

Just consult your partner first before actually picking one to grow!
