Wondering what it takes to get on Santa's good side? Apparently, don't go into politics, and don't have anything to do with the NHL.
"All the hockey players are on my naughty list because of what they’re doing," he told The Huffington Post Canada. "Actually, everybody involved with this NHL business — they should act more like adults than spoiled children."
Santa was in Toronto to kick off the holiday season with the annual Santa Claus Parade, taking place Sunday, November 18th, starting at 12:30 p.m and being broadcast from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on CTV. He was well rested from a recent trip to the Bahamas, which made him realize just how much he misses the good old days of letter writing and face-to-face communication.
"Sitting by the pool, there'd be people with BlackBerrys, iPods, things that like. Four people were sitting at a table, each on their devices, not even talking to each other! Why do you need that while you're on vacation?" he asked, adding that he'll always respond when people write him a letter, especially with requests for presents.
He's happy to include those who volunteer, help others and always have a smile on their faces — "basically, people who act like human beings" on his nice list for Christmas, but don't even think about taking a job in Parliament.
"All politicians go on the naughty list, no matter what party they belong to," he said. "Because no one seems to be able to tell you what’s happening at the right time and be honest about it. There’s too much of what they call spin, and Santa doesn't do spin."
