A security guard has been fired from a popular Calgary shopping mall after a violent arrest outside the mall was caught on video and published Saturday.
Chinook Centre officials say further action will be taken as more details emerge from the investigation and that the matter is being taken very seriously.
"We are cooperating fully with all authorities and providing information as requested, but given this is an ongoing investigation we cannot provide further information," said Peggy Lim, Marketing Director at Chinook Centre.
Calgary police are also investigating the video that shows five security guards using force, including punches, while arresting a man named Daniel Doussept.

Although the video does not show what led to the takedown, audio can be heard suggesting the man had a pair of scissors on him.
Doussept, who is 31, says he was at the mall to see a movie with a friend and insists he did nothing wrong and was not fighting back.
He was given a ticket for trespassing and released.
"I'm on the ground with five people on me already and then a sixth guy comes up, starts feeding me shots and another guy is driving his elbow or knee or something into the side of my head here and that's when I'm screaming, 'Get your knee off my head,''' said Doussept.
Tremaine Lea, the man who took the video says the guards used excessive force.
He claims the Calgary Police officer that attended the scene didn't bother to watch the entire video, the Calgary Herald reports.
“He told me that if the police had responded, it would have ended in the same way,” the Calgary Herald's report added.
A security guard can also be heard saying, "Stop fighting," to which Doussept replies, "I'm trying not to."
The video was posted on YouTube on Saturday and has been viewed over 19,000 times as of Tuesday evening.
No charges have been laid.
