Edmonton Police Officers On Twitter Are Funny, Saucy And Smart

They may not be happy when they pull you over for speeding, but a group of Edmonton police officers are using Twitter prove that cops can have a sense of humour and, at times, be downright hilarious.

According to the Edmonton Sun, police in Alberta's capital have been using the social network since 2009 to give Edmontonians a glimpse of what happens while on shift. A group of constables send out 140 character snipits of the calls they're responding to, answer the public's questions and send out press releases.

But several members of this socially-savvy group have discovered the benefit of tickling a few funny bones. They're sharing some of the excuses they hear from offenders, joking around with their followers and showing that they, too, can see the humour in a typically tough job.
