CBSA Cocaine Bust At B.C. Border Nets 62 Kilograms Of Drug

A truck driver was arrested at B.C.'s Pacific Highway border crossing after 62.3 kilograms of suspected cocaine was found in his food product cargo on June 26, according to a Canadian Border Service Agency news release on Thursday.

Concealed in cardboard boxes, 56 bricks of the suspected illegal drug was discovered after the driver failed a primary inspection, prompting cargo to be off-loaded.

The products were being shipped from California at the time.

The seizure makes this the single largest interception of cocaine in the province since July 2011 when 115 kilograms of the narcotic was found at the same border crossing, according to CBSA.
