As flood-waters swept across Southern Alberta in June, a security camera in a parking lot in downtown Calgary captured images of the water as they rose to historic levels.
Taken in the EPCOR CENTRE for the Performing Arts' parkade on June 21, water can be seen flowing under the parking lot's entrance door and pooling up on the floor.
"Believe it or not, this isn't the first time that EPCOR CENTRE has had a flood," said a blog post by the Centre documenting the event.
A thunderstorm in 2011 compromised a storm water pipe and flooded parts of the Centre. But that event doesn't compare to this year's flood, said the post.
By the time Ziggy Marley's performance ended on June 20, large parts of Calgary's downtown including, Eau Claire and Chinatown, were being evacuated.
Photos from the flooding that show crews working to build barricades to protect the property were also released.
Crews were successful in protecting the theatres and rest of the building, which remained dry.
