Turns out Canada's biggest bookworms reside in the West.

After compiling a list of all book sales in print and online since June 1, 2012, the book-selling giant was able to track down which Canadian cities purchased the most books.

"Our data shows Canadians are avid readers and we hope book lovers across Canada will enjoy this fun look at where some of the most passionate readers reside," said David Jackson, general manager of the Amazon.ca Media Business in a statement.

The survey also found fun tidbits on the habits of Canadian readers including how Saskatonians bought the most Canadian-produced content, Vancouver residents purchased the most business and investing books, and locals in big cities like Toronto and Calgary were the most interested in getting away.

A previous report found Canadians can buy up to a million books a week, while urban libraries report circulation numbers in the tens or even hundreds of thousands, according to the Globe and Mail.
