Hudson's Bay, Canadian Tire, CBC –- there’s something about seeing some of Canada’s most recognizable logos that makes us feel totally patriotic.
These and other distinctly Canadian designs are part of our culture and national identity, according to Ottawa-based creative agency Northern Army, which has decided to display some of its favourite Canadian logos online. It’s an idea the agency hopes will grow into “a long-lasting tribute to Canadian design”and allow people to learn the history behind some famous Canadian emblems.
Today its site, called 'Preservation Society,' features some of our nation’s most memorable logos from fast-food restaurants, sports teams, retail brands and more. Some designs are a blast from the past (the old-school CBC gem, anyone?), while others are totally timeless.
