Snowbound Newfoundlander Is Funnier Than '22 Minutes'

Barry Horlick may have unintentionally auditioned for "This Hour Has 22 Minutes" when he tried to escape his mother's snowbound home in the St. John's, N.L. neighbourhood of Shea Heights on Tuesday, CBC News reported.

A video that was uploaded to YouTube the same day shows Horlick comically trying to exit the home, only to be confronted by a wall of snow.

Horlick's mother, Maureen, can be heard uttering "Jumpin' Jesus tonight," a popular Newfoundland expression, as Barry cries out, "I'm stuck! I'm stuck!"

The video generated over 150,000 views on YouTube and was also posted to the Facebook page for "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."

Barry's sister Laurie said the video was only supposed to be shared among family and friends, and that she was "blown away" at how far it's gone.

The video came as St. John's was hit with 40 centimetres of snow earlier this week.

Thankfully for Barry, the forecast calls for above-zero temperatures next week, said the Weather Network.
