Kaiti Perras, Calgary Stabbing Victim, Was A Promising Dancer

Stabbing Victim Was Destined For Great Things: Friends

Kaitlin (Kaiti) Perras, one of five victims in a fatal series of stabbings in Calgary, is being remembered as a promising ballet dancer.

Her family has asked for privacy, but friends describe the 23-year-old, who recently studied English at Mount Royal University, as a kind person who was destined to do great things.

Kaitlyn Harris and Kaitlyn McArthur knew Perras since she was eight years old, when the three of them began dancing at the Counterpoint Dance Academy in Marda Loop, The Calgary Herald reported.

Along with another friend with the same name, they were known as the "Four Kaitlyns."

Perras was known as "little Kaitlin" within the group because of her height — but as dancers, they all looked up to her.

“She inspired me to be a better dancer. She’s the reason I pursued ballet like I did," Harris said.

CTV reporter Simon Jones tweeted a photo from a memorial that shoes a pair of ballet shoes with "RIP" written on them, as well as a picture of Perras with her dance team.
