Deadmau5 Blasts Arcade Fire Over EDM Diss At Coachella: 'Dafuqs Your Problem?'

CanConflict: Deadmau5 Blasts Arcade Fire Over EDM Diss

It took a couple of weeks, but Deadmau5 didn't respond kindly to remarks Arcade Fire made during their headlining slot at Coachella music fest.

NME reports the group's show during the festival's first weekend saw singer Win Butler give a rockist "shout-out to all the bands still playing actual instruments at the festival." Butler continued the antagonism the following weekend when he brought out fakes in Daft Punk robot costumes to slow jam "Get Lucky."

Deadmau5 took the group to task yesterday evening on Twitter, defending his genre while pointing out that Arcade Fire's indie rock is hardly opera. Here's what the EDM superstar had to say.

Deadmau5 received several replies from people but Arcade Fire has yet to reply to any of the EDM artist's remarks.

But electronic dance music wasn't the only recipient of Arcade Fire's ire. During the same set, Butler also slammed "fake VIP room bullshit happening at the festival, and sometimes people dream of being there -- but it super sucks in there."

The feuding Canadians will next face off as headliners at rival B.C. summer music festivals with Deadmau5 playing Pemberton and Arcade Fire booked for Squamish.
