Maxim's Hot 100 list of 2014 just arrived and their No. 1 pick is a bit of a surprise!
Victoria's Secret model Candice Swanepoel nabbed the top spot, followed by a who's who of Hollywood babes including Jennifer Lawrence, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Beyonce and Scarlett Johansson.
“It’s a huge honor to be Maxim’s number one, among so many beautiful and talented women! It’s a great feeling," Swanepoel said in a press release via the men's magazine.
Maxim Creative Director Paul Martinez said the mag's team chose the South African beauty not only because of her jaw-dropping looks but because she has built herself into a global brand.
"Candice Swanepoel is the ideal embodiment of the new Maxim brand: stunning, sophisticated, elegant," he said. "It's not only her flawless beauty and effortless grace that have garnered her the coveted 2014 Hot 100 Number 1 placement, but also her business acumen. She has risen to become one of the world's top supermodels and has transcended the accolade to become a global brand. It's hard to imagine a woman more perfect."
Canadians weren't left off the list either: "Vampire Diaries" star Nina Dobrev, Anna Paquin, Avril Lavigne, "Revenge" star Emily VanCamp and "Bitten" star Laura Vandervoort were included. (It's true: we do breed a lot of gorgeous women in Canada.)
