Almost 500 divers rocked out underwater for the Lower Keys Underwater Music Festival at Looe Key Reef in Florida on Saturday.
The festival, which just celebrated its 30th anniversary, saw participants pick up instruments and dive into the continental U.S.'s only living coral reef as they listened to songs such as "Under the Sea" and "Octopus' Garden," the Associated Press reported.
Instruments were provided by August Powers, a sculptor and metalsmith who made them out of copper so that they could be "played" underwater, said the Lower Keys Chamber of Commerce, which organized the festival.
The event, which was sponsored by US 1 Radio, also served as a chance to raise awareness of the area's "delicate oceanic environment," said an event flyer.
A broadcast informed divers about how they could reduce environmental impacts on marine life.
