UPDATE: Live Nation has just tweeted that there is no Prince show tonight. The barricades are being taken down at Massey Hall and the hundred of fans who have been in line since early this morning have been given no information beyond that.

A Toronto Star photographer captured how big the crowd got before security sent everyone home.

Oh, and weirdly, there are photos on Twitter of a stage set-up allegedly inside Massey Hall that includes a microphone stand adorned with Prince's unmistakable symbol.

Rumours of a surprise Prince concert in Toronto rumours began circling online last night, bolstered by a cryptic tweet from the Purple One himself that he deleted early this morning but not before it was captured.

Line-ups have already begun circling Toronto's Massey Hall and CBC is reporting that they saw a drum kit with Prince's famous symbol being set-up onstage before "the cameraman and CBC reporter were then asked to leave the venue."

This would practically be a return home as the Minneapolis musicians lived in Toronto for several years in the early 2000s when he was married to Toronto-born Manuela Testolini.

The last time Prince performed in Toronto was 2011 when he played a two-night stand at the Air Canada Centre. The first night he performed for over 3.5 hours.
