Two Calgary brothers have been charged after a disturbing sexual assault of a 17-year-old girl.
Corey George Manyshots, 25, and Cody George Manyshots, 21, have each been charged with sexual assault causing bodily harm, assault causing bodily harm, kidnapping, uttering threats, and robbery.
According to police, the girl was waiting for a bus at 11:30 p.m. in the northeast community of Taradale last Friday when she was approached by two men.
The girl was dragged into a nearby alley, assaulted with a weapon and sexually assaulted, say police. She was then walked to a nearby home in Martindale, where she was repeatedly sexually assaulted through the night.
“She was not impaired when this took place, however she was forcibly taken from one address to the other, which would potentially have somebody who may have seen this think that perhaps she was impaired and needed to be assisted in walking,” said Staff. Sgt. Melanie Oncescu.
The girl managed to escape around 8 a.m. Saturday morning, and promptly alerted police. She was also treated in hospital and investigators believe she may have suffered a concussion.
On Sunday, three men were taken into custody — two brothers and their father — but only the brothers were held. The brothers will appear in court Monday morning.
Police say they would like to speak to any witnesses who may have seen two men accompanying a girl in that area Friday evening.
