Edmonton police have charged a man who they allege posed as a magazine photographer to lure a 16-year-old to an apartment to sexually assault her.

Peter Malko, 52, has been charged with sexual assault, sexual exploitation, and utter threats.

According to police, the teenage girl was approached while riding the LRT near the Coliseum Transit Centre the morning of Jan. 22.

The man told the girl he wanted to take her picture for a magazine, and asked her to meet him at an apartment near 104 Street and 98 Avenue.

Police say the girl was sexually assaulted at the apartment and when she left reported the case to police.

Police have circulated a photo of Malko — who they say many also go by the name Peter McCormack — because they believe other women may have been approached by the man.

Malko is a Caucasian male, with grey hair that has been dyed bright red. He is 5’6” and approximately 160 lbs. He wears dark-rimmed glasses and has blue eyes.
