Hafthor Bjornsson, 'Game Of Thrones' Star, Breaks Millennium-Long Lifting Record

HOLY MOUNTAIN!

Rarely does a "Game of Thrones" villain inspire awe in real life as he does on television.

The exception is Hafthor "Thor" Bjornsson, the Icelandic strongman who played Ser Gregor "The Mountain" Clegane on the HBO show's fourth season.

He has already won a competition for Europe's strongest man.

But now he's gone and broken a record that had stood for 1,000 years, says IronMind.

Bjornsson, 26, carried a 30-foot log that weighed 650 kilograms (1,433 pounds) on his shoulders for five steps to win the World's Strongest Viking competition.

The record was previously set by a legendary Icelander named Orm Storulfsson, who carried a log that weighed more than 650 kilograms for three steps before his back gave out.

No such calamity befell Bjornsson, who is now eyeing the World's Strongest Man title.

If there's anyone who can top the World's Strongest Viking, we'd sure like to see him.
