A new survey has finally (maybe) answered the pressing question: Where do Canada’s most sex-crazed people live?
According to online sex toy store Pink Cherry, Canada’s rural communities are seriously into sex-related gear. Yes folks, lurking behind those barns and lumber yards are vibrators and whips and handcuffs.
Large cities largely didn’t place in Pink Cherry's rankings of sex toy and BDSM gear sales. Evidently urban residents buy far fewer sex toys, per capita, than rural residents.
Kentville, N.S., is apparently the Canadian capital of sex toy sales, while Mahone Bay, N.S., tops per-capita BDSM sales.
But Nova Scotians aren’t the only ones. Many towns in Alberta and British Columbia top the lists, while major cities like Toronto and Montreal didn’t crack the top 100. On BDSM sales, for instance, Toronto ranked 113th, behind Montreal at 112th.
Interestingly, Canada’s oil capital, Fort McMurray, ranks near the top of both the sex toy and BDSM rankings. Guess oil workers like their power tools.

One thing to keep in mind is the survey is not scientific. It’s based on Pink Cherry’s own sales numbers, divided by population. The company’s sales may not reflect the actual distribution of sales for Canada as a whole.
