Labradors were once bred for their skills as hunting and fishing dogs, but it turns out, they're also good to have around during a Canadian winter.
Greg Cox's yellow lab Elsa in particular is really pulling her weight at their house. The Guelph, Ont. resident posted a video to YouTube Sunday that shows Elsa pushing a shovel across their backyard hockey rink.
"So my Lab is ready for some hockey, are you @Buccigross @NHL ??" Cox tweeted alongside the video, tagging ESPN anchor John Buccigross in the tweet.
He caught the sportscaster's attention, who responded by saying the video was "beautiful."
Cox's daughter Claire can also be heard cheering Elsa on in the background, he wrote on Twitter.
One reaction to Cox's video came from a dad who was clearly jealous of Elsa's eagerness.
If only we were all this excited to shovel our driveways and sidewalks.
