Everything is cool when you're part of a team, especially if it involves a combination of Tegan and Sara, The Lonely Island, Questlove and Will Arnett as Lego Batman.
The "Everything is Awesome" crew performed their Best Original Song-nominated ditty at the 87th annual Academy Awards on Sunday night. Surrounded by Oscar statue sketches, rainbows and dancers dressed like Lego construction workers, the bright, hyper-kinetic and energetic performance perfectly captured the energy of its eponymous film, "The Lego Movie."
Though the film did not earn a nomination for Best Animated Film, its dance troupe still carried Lego Oscars of their own, and doled them out to the VIPs in the crowd. The faux little gold men also resembled the replicas created by "The Lego Movie"'s director Phil Lord after the aforementioned snub.
Oprah Winfrey seemed particularly pleased to receive hers, and Emma Stone was seen with the mock trophy on her lap when she was mentioned in the Best Supporting Actress category.
Prior to their performance, Calgary-born twins Tegan and Sara told CTV's Ben Mulroney they were "so scared" to take the stage.
However, none of their Oscar jitters were visible, as their candy-coloured rendition of the song was one of the night's most memorable moments.
"Selma"'s original song "Glory," performed by Common and John Legend, won in the "Best Original Song" category.
