Quentin Tarantino Basically Copies Other Movies. But It's Totally Badass.

There's hardly a filmmaker alive who loves the movies more than he does.

There's hardly a filmmaker alive who loves movies more than Quentin Tarantino does.

That much is obvious when you check out a recent YouTube video that juxtaposes classic clips from his films against the originals he's referencing. And they're a joy to watch side by side.

The video was made by film editor Jacob T. Swinney, who also made an outstanding video comparing the first and final frames of various films.

In this one, the shootout scene from "Reservoir Dogs" is shown as a clear nod to the Chow Yun-fat flick "City on Fire."

The opening titles for "Jackie Brown," meanwhile, unfold in much the same way that the ones for "The Graduate" do.

And a scene in "Pulp Fiction," in which Uma Thurman draws a square with her fingers, seems to have been lifted right out of "The Flintstones."

The allusions don't seem to have much significance, except to allow Tarantino to pay tribute to the films and filmmakers he admires.

His film "The Hateful Eight," starring Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Dern and Jennifer Jason Leigh, is set for release in November.

We can't wait to see what he references next.
