Even if you are watching an ad for Google, this man's gender transition story is the only thing that sticks out.
The in the video above by Google My Business, we hear the story about a man named Jacob who shares his female to male transition story. The ad, which focuses on small businesses, also features Kansas City's City Gym owner Hailee Bland Walsh, who emphasizes inclusivity at her gym.
In the video, which was released to celebrate Pride Month, Jacob describes his struggle with his childhood identity, his surgeries and his current goals of building a body he's always wanted — through Walsh's gym.
On Wednesday, given the media attention around both Walsh's space and Jacob's story, the gym is now sharing ideas on how other gyms can create more inclusive spaces. Their first example was having gender neutral showers and restrooms.
