One of the world's most ferocious animals has been spotted bounding at a clip through a Lethbridge, Alta. neighbourhood.
Conservation group Wolverine Watch posted a video to its Facebook last Sunday that shows one of the animals running across some people's yards.
The brief video was shot in the Riverstone subdivision at around 6 a.m. on June 8.
Wolverine Watch said on its page that sightings of wolverines are usually reported in B.C. and Alberta, though some have also come from Quebec and Vancouver Island.
While aggressive (they're known to take down prey such as moose and caribou), wolverines are also vulnerable.
They have lost over a third of their range in North America and virtually disappeared from areas with heavy human settlement. They're considered of "special concern" west of Hudson Bay.
But this sighting marks the second time in three years that a wolverine has been spotted in an Alberta city, The Calgary Herald reported.
One of the animals was seen in Airdrie in June 2012, prompting a number of 911 calls.
