Children Of Asian Immigrants Share Their Parents' Struggles And Sacrifices

Bring on the tissues!

If you're a child of an Asian immigrant, you may not always realize what your parents had to go through before you were born.

Coming to a new country, learning a new language and often struggling to adapt to a new environment is a situation many children of Asian immigrants have heard about while growing up.

In the video above by Buzzfeed, Asian men and women in the U.S. talk about the sacrifices and struggles their parents made for them in order to have a better life. From working all types of odd jobs to quitting their jobs to stay at home to "embarrassing" their children by wearing traditional clothing, parents have come a long way since their first day in a new home — and so have their kids.

And yes, we may get tired of our parents' constant lectures about how difficult it was to be an immigrant in a North American country and how much they value things like education, money and jobs. But if this video teaches us anything, it's that children of Asian parents have a lot to be thankful for.. especially with Father's Day coming up.

Watch the video above and let us know if you any of stories resonate with you.
