Vancouver Pride Rainbow Sunglasses Help LGBT Youth

Sweet!

Now these are some snazzy shades.

Vancouver-based eyewear retailer Clearly has rolled out limited-edition sunglasses with rainbow lenses as part of its Love is Love campaign.

All of the proceeds from the clear-rimmed specs will go directly to the It Gets Better Project, which supports LGBT youth.

“Everyone deserves to be respected for who they are,” said Brett Peters, the group's director, said in a news release.

The sunglasses sure would come in handy at the Vancouver Pride Parade this Sunday, which the city expects will attract 650,000 people.

The rainbow shades also honour the United States' recent Supreme Court ruling legalizing gay marriage across the country.

The date of the historic U.S. decision is stamped inside the glasses, and hearts are cut out into the end of the arms.

The online retailer initially made only 500 pairs of the C$80 sunglasses, but Clearly was inundated with more than 1,500 pre-sale orders in just two weeks. There's now a waiting list.
