A new video by GoldieBlox is showing girls that they can run the world.
The toy company, which aims to break gender stereotypes, released a music video last week, showcasing all the accomplishments of women in 2015. Reenacted by little girls, the clip features mini versions of Hillary Clinton, Viola Davis and Amy Schumer doing what they do best: winning.
This year, for instance, Clinton is in the running to be the next president of the United States, Davis was the first black woman to win an Emmy for lead actress in a drama series and Schumer showed us why we need to forget about modern beauty standards.
Set to Fifth Harmony's “Work It,” these girls prove girl power is more alive than ever!
In just one week, the video has received over 400,000 views.
In the clip’s description, GoldieBlox writes, “We’re celebrating today’s role models and the generation of girls they’ve inspired – the girls who have broken the mold, blazed a trail, and made it happen. In 2015, these 10 women in politics, entertainment, sport and STEM are the leading ladies that we all hope to grow up to be, proving that anything – and we mean anything – is possible.”
This isn’t the first time GoldieBlox has inspired girls to be whatever they wanted to be. In the past, the company has released a number of videos showing girls that it’s okay to break the mold.
