Woman Gives Birth To Her Own Grandchild Post Menopause

The 53-year-old's granddaughter Kelcey was born on Jan. 6.

A 53-year-old Texas woman has given birth to her own grandchild after acting as a surrogate for her daughter.

Tracey Thompson offered to be a surrogate for her daughter Kelley McKissack and husband Aaron after the couple suffered three miscarriages following fertility treatments. Despite being seven years past menopause, Thompson delivered her granddaughter, Kelcey, on Wednesday.

This isn’t the first time a woman has given birth to her own grandchild. Back in September, Sherri Dickson of North Dakota delivered her granddaughter at 51 after acting as her daughter’s surrogate.
