Burberry Hires Brooklyn Beckham To Shoot Fragrance Campaign, And People Are Not Having It

"I can’t even handle the amount of anger this gives me. I’ve fought, struggled and worked for what I’ve achieved while he’s handed what would be a dream job for me."

When your father is one of the world's biggest footballers, and your mother has dominated both the stage and runway, you're bound to have greatness thrust upon you.

And Brooklyn Beckham definitely has that greatness.

The son of David and Victoria Beckham was hired on by Burberry recently for their major fragrance campaign, not as a model, but rather, as a photographer.

On Friday, the teen announced on Instagram that he would photograph Burberry's #THISISBRIT campaign, which he was "excited" for.

The shoot, which he shot live on Burberry's Snapchat, caused a social media outrage from fellow established photogs, including Chris Floyd who has shot the likes of Paul McCartney. He blasted the 16-year-old for his inexperience and expressed his frustration towards Burberry for their "sheer nepotism" and clever marketing. He also called out Victoria and David for allowing their son to take on the role.

"David and Victoria Beckham represent sheer willpower and graft. Especially her, she’s climbed that mountain all by herself," Floyd tells The Guardian. "They represent hard work and then their 16-year-old year son comes along and it’s sheer nepotism. He hasn’t done it from hard work, which is counter-intuitive to what his parents represent."

And Floyd isn't the only one who's upset.

On Instagram, one user writes, "He is a kid with little experience and is used to getting easy handouts because of mom and dad. The Burberry company just wants to keep his parents happy and impress the kids 5 million followers."

Another comments, "I can’t even handle the amount of anger this gives me. I’ve fought, struggled and worked for what I’ve achieved while he’s handed what would be a dream job for me."

Controversy aside, the campaign shots are stunning. The eldest Beckham, who, as mentioned, has five million followers on Instagram, shared the gorgeous portraits via social media, which shows female and male models gazing into the camera, as delicate, natural light hits them beautifully.

Brooklyn isn't the first Beckham child to work with Burberry, however. Little brother Romeo, 13, landed a role in the British label's Christmas advert, which he starred alongside Sir Elton John.

All we have to say is that Brooklyn puts our 16-year-old selves to shame with his endless ranges of talents.
