Despite a misleading Super Bowl 50 Ad, Drake will not be performing at this year's Grammy Awards show.
The Toronto rapper confirmed via Twitter that he won't be among the performers taking the stage Feb. 15, after an ad for the awards show led fans to believe he would.
Drake, who hadn't been announced previously, was included in the lineup of performers, along with others who have already been confirmed.
Some are thinking this may be a a trick, leading up to a surprise appearance. But the Grammys coincides with NBA All-Star Game weekend, which runs Feb. 12 to 14 in Toronto. Drake will be back in his hometown for the weekend coaching a team alongside fellow Canadian and former NBA player Steve Nash. Hopping on a plane to make a surprise appearance for the Grammys after a full weekend affair is a possibility, but not likely, especially considering his public reaction.
But yes, plenty of people were still in denial.
Handfuls of stars have, however, been confirmed for the show via the Grammys' Instagram account, including The Weeknd, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Adele and Rihanna.
In fact, it's the excitement of Rhi's performance that makes Drizzy's announcement all the more disappointing. Seems like a live duet of Rihanna's new single "Work" is out of reach for now.
