Sasha Obama Job: She Just Landed A Sweet Summer Gig

She's accompanied by a group of Secret Service agents on every shift.

Ask any teen and they’ll tell you the worst summer job is cutting grass or working at a fast food joint. Luckily, Sasha Obama isn’t doing either of those things. Instead, she’s spending her summer days on Martha's Vineyard thanks to a sweet new gig.

The 15-year-old daughter of U.S. President Barack Obama just landed a job at Nancy’s Restaurant, a seafood joint in Oak Bluffs. Her responsibilities include tending to the cash register, bussing tables and prepping the restaurant for lunch.

While this seems like a pretty regular summer job, you have to admit that working any gig on a beautiful island is a win. Plus, the Boston Herald reports that Sasha only works four-hour shifts in the early morning, leaving her plenty of time for fun in the sun.

Considering the U.S. Fair Labor Standards Act states that age 14 is the general minimum age of employment, it’s safe to say that this is Sasha’s first job.

According to NY Daily News, the teen has decided to go by her full name, Natasha, while at work. And since she is still the First Daughter, she is accompanied by a group of Secret Service agents on every shift.

“We were wondering why there were six people helping this girl,” a server at Nancy’s told the Boston Herald, “but then we found out who it was.”

The Obamas are known for vacationing on Martha’s Vineyard and are reportedly friends with restaurant owner Joe Moujabber, which is how Sasha scored a job.

The teen's work days will end on Saturday, though, when her family is expected to arrive for a two-week visit.

Sasha’s older sister Malia had quite a different first job. Last summer, the 18-year-old interned on the set of HBO’s “Girls.”

However, this year, Malia appears to be taking a break from work. The eldest daughter of President Obama was recently spotted enjoying herself at Chicago’s Lollapalooza festival.
