The Olympic diving pool at the Maria Lenk Aquatics Centre in Rio de Janeiro was briefly closed Friday as the water remained green, two days after officials said it would be blue again.
The whole facility also "smells like a fart," according to one German athlete.
The closure was noted early on by British diving medallist Tom Daley.
The official account for the Rio Olympics replied, explaining why it was closed:
It was reopened Friday, even though it'sstill green, The Score reported.
The diving pool has become a source of controversy since Tuesday, when it appeared to turn from blue to green.
Reuters reported the water changed colour because of a lack of chemicals used to treat it, according to the Federation internationale de natation (FINA), swimming's governing body.
Olympic officials initially said it was due to a "proliferation of algae."
Games organizers said the water posed no threat to swimmers' health, but Guardian journalist Owen Gibson tweeted at least one athlete emerged from the pool with "itchy eyes."
And at least one German athlete said the smell isn't too pleasant either:
The women's three-metre springboard event was set to take place Friday, with Canadian Jennifer Abel competing, but the closure won't affect the event, Global News reported.
