One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson just lost his mother. The singer’s mom, Johannah Deakin, died on Wednesday after a battle with leukemia. She was 43 years old.
In a statement, Deakin’s husband Dan said: “It is with immeasurable sadness that Johannah Deakin’s family said goodbye to Johannah in the early hours of Wednesday, Dec. 7. Earlier this year Johannah was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of leukemia that required immediate and continuous treatment. We respectfully request that the family are given time and space to grieve in private.”
Deakin was a midwife and a mother of seven kids: Louis, 24, Lottie, 18, Felicite, 16, twins Daisy and Phoebe, 12, and twins Ernest and Doris, 2. She was also grandmother to Louis’ ten-month-old son Freddie.
Deakin often posted photos of her family on Instagram.
According to People magazine, the One Direction star will appear on “The X Factor” on Saturday to pay tribute to his late mother. A source told the publication that it was Deakin’s final wish that Tomlinson perform on the show.
Deakin’s last Instagram post, which was made in October, was of Tomlinson. In the caption, she wrote, “My perfect boy.”
