I had been following Erica Douglass (via her blog) for a while before I asked her for an interview. I was so impressed with her background as a woman in technology and a woman operating in a business that was highly competitive.

Erica is fearless and that is why she was able to forge ahead with her web hosting company even though there were already hundreds of competitors on the market!

Her story of selling her company at age 26 for over one million dollars is mind blowing, but that's not the most amazing thing about Erica. What has impressed me even more than her big financial exit win is her philosophy about life, business, her passion for search engine optimization and how she figured out how to deal with her Celiac Disease on her own! Those are the elements that make Erica such an extraordinary entrepreneur in my view.

I have no doubt you'll agree once you listen to this powerful interview with Erica Douglass!

You can watch the interview with Erica Douglass below:

I really love how Erica has framed the "secret to success" on her website and I'm borrowing it so you can understand what kind of amazing woman she is and how she figured a lot of this out at such a young age!

Three Basic Factors That Make People Successful by Erica Douglass

1. Persistence. Most people give up far too early. It usually takes at least 18 months, and sometimes much longer, for the effects of anything you start to really be felt on a large scale.

2. Listening to those who matter, and tuning out those who don't. You can safely ignore the family member who tells you won't ever make it, but it's important to listen to your customer when he or she has a complaint about your service.

3. Creating on a consistent basis. Emailing, Tweeting, and watching TV don't count as "work." Actually creating something, every single day, is how you build a fantastic business.
