Dr. Marc Garneau, candidate for the leadership of the Liberal Party of Canada, has served as a Captain in the Canadian Navy, President of the Canadian Space Agency, was Canada's first astronaut, and is currently the Member of Parliament for Westmount--Ville-Marie. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics from the Royal Military College in Kingston, a PhD in Electrical Engineering from London, England's Imperial College of Science and Technology, and has studied at the Canadian Forces Command and Staff College in Toronto. Marc has served as the Liberal Party's Industry, Science and Technology critic as well as Liberal House Leader, and is currently the Liberal critic for Natural Resources, where he continues to fight for consumer-friendly internet access, transparent military procurement strategies, and the creation of a Canadian Child and Youth Commissioner.
