As a divorce attorney, I've seen marriages dissolve for reasons that run from the trivial to the deadly serious. But there's one cause of divorce that seems to draw the most attention: adultery. Perhaps because we consider marriage to be a contract of love, adultery seems like the most serious abrogation of a couple's vows to each other.

Same actions, same words, same behaviour. How is that possible? Turns out similarities are not even unusual but predictable, right down to the language a departing spouse might use.

5. It's a good evolutionary strategy.

Once you have broken that promise, that vow of faithfulness, there is a terrible sense of loss, no matter how you dress it up. In addition to the betrayal of your shared intimacy, the lying takes a toll. Each lie adds a layer of deceit until you hardly know what to say to your partner anymore.
True democracy and Sharia law are irreconcilable. Women are officially inferior. Apostasy -- the changing of religions, or abandoning Islam for Christianity -- is a crime. And running a country with a banking system that allows no interest payments poses problems on the international stage.
It's too easy to say that people cheat because they're unhappy in their marriage. I've observed that there are a number of reasons why people cheat, and these have everything to do with the character of the person cheating.
