Since I posted the letter that has spread further than I ever expected, I have received a few private responses on Facebook. They have all been touching and meaningful, and I appreciate everyone who has reached out to me. However it was today I received the most significant one.

How courageous do you suspect those victims had to be to come forward? How much time, thought and fortitude do you think they needed to even decide to take a stand, advocate for themselves -- in the face of all forms of painful, targeted, mostly harsh scrutiny and judgment from a variety of sources. IT TAKES COURAGE.
I generally regard myself as a Nice Person, until my son's needs are compromised. Until your kid is wronged or overlooked in some way, you have no idea how fiercely your mama bear will react. Whether it's a major incident or some minor trifle, your child does need to you to "fight" on their behalf until they are mature enough to do so of their own accord.
A whole host of campaigns designed to advance the agenda of the fossil fuel industry have cropped up: Resource Works, British Columbians for Prosperity, Energy Citizens, Coal Alliance, Canadian Natural Resources Alliance, Pipeline Action, and many others.
There are many cases of privacy violation at Veterans Affairs. Those that have gone public have two things in common: they have all spoken out about VAC policy and they are all veterans. Some can prove the Minister was given their information. Some can only prove that Ministerial staff was reading their files. Why is this happening?
