When Did Canadians Stop Believing in Discussion?

A considerable number of attacks on freedom of speech and freedom of thought suggest that we are a much weaker country than we believe ourselves to be. We no longer value diversity but prefer assimilation. If you disagree with the consensus, you will suffer the wrath of the despotic majority.

This Ain't My Grandma's Republican Party

Watching the last few years of American politics from my side of the fence, I am absolutely flabbergasted by how deeply entrenched and polarized the two parties have become. I might debate an issue I believe in, but I'll go home and consider it from both sides. My grandma was the same way.
