Born into a progressive Indian family, I was encouraged to have a career and be independent. I grew up with great opportunities to learn about myself, travel and have a wholesome childhood and now adulthood. Millions of Indian girls do not have this opportunity and there is discrimination at multiple stages.
Since gender equality is one of the most important issues in terms of sustainable and healthy growth, Turkey has launched a new engagement group, Women20 (W20), which will concentrate on enhancing the role and increasing the participation of women in business. In addition to gender equality, ensuring women have access to financial assets will form the backbone of global growth.
"Bring more than 100 million women into the labor force." These 10 words represent the commitment of 10 Presidents, 10 Prime Ministers and one Chancellor to increase female labour force participation (FLFP) in the name of economic growth.
