Shelly Westgarth started her ice cream venture in 2009. With twin children about to start school, Shelley realized she had to adjust her working hours to accommodate her growing family. As a regular visitor to the Muskoka farmer's markets in summer, she identified an opportunity to make and sell gourmet Ice cream. The rest is history.
I appreciate a good vanilla ice cream. It has to taste juuuussst right and have that perfectly smooth, creamy texture that melts in your mouth! It also has to have the right shade of colour -- not pasty white, not sickly yellow. My recipe meets the above stated standard. It can be just a starter for those of you who love any-flavour-but-vanilla.
One day last week, I was hot and cranky, and although there had been a lot of domestic nudity, I had the decency to throw on a caftan before going on an ice cream run. No sooner do I walk into the store when an itty-bitty sweetheart of a gal comes up to me and asks, "Can I have that dress when you grow out of it?"
