Kale, schmale! Of course, we are joking - we love kale - but there are a variety of delicious and nutritious leafy greens available this time of year.
My clients always ask me, "If there is one thing I can do to better my health, or one food item I can add in that is amazing for me... what is it?" My answer is always greens! For instance, kale is fantastic when it is just lightly steamed or sautéed -- they even make great "chips" (see recipe below).
Too often, a restaurant's inflated price point leaves me flat when measured against the profoundly uninspiring vegetable accompaniment that has been prepared with all the verve and creativity of a dial tone. I'm sorry, but steamed carrots and a slice of wobbly bell pepper just doesn't feel good in my body.
