More Canadian Employers Need To Cover Medical Marijuana

Shoppers Drug Mart and Loblaws recently made headlines by announcing they will cover medical cannabis for their employees. But the devil is always in the details. While these two chains should be praised for their progressive steps forward, we also need to ask who this coverage is provided for, how much is being covered, as well as how this fits with the overall long-term strategy to position pharmacies as the front-line dispensers of medical cannabis.

Is Weed a Gateway to Other Legal Drugs in Canada?

The legalization or decriminalization of marijuana has become a nonpartisan solution so blatantly obvious that only misguided moral opposition remains. If the legalization of marijuana can be accepted by the Canadian populace, the legalization of all drugs should be as well. Taboos, fear, and moral opposition should not prevent the government from taking the rational scientific steps necessary to solving the drug crisis.

Legalized Weed Is Sparking Tensions in the USA

There is indeed change in America's winds, and it smells like the chronic. Recreational weed will not just be legal in Colorado and Washington, but will be be produced, packaged, and sold in retail stores. Personally, I've never partaken in smoking weed myself because it's illegal in Canada and I am an upstanding, law abiding citizen.
