Sexual Assault, Lies And Videotapes

To the women who step forward and tell their truth -- your words are weapons shattering, one-by-one, the armour of toxic misogyny. Know that when you speak, you speak for our mothers and grandmothers that endured without voice, who suffered without recourse. You, as well, may not find justice, but every time you come forward you make the Jian Gomeshi, Donald Trump, Bill Cosby's of this world harder to exist. Even more, you send a message to the Billy Bushes of the world that our culture needs to change to make it safer for girls and women... Join or get out of our way and take notice that our bodies are not yours from which to mount your claim to status and power.

Ryan Lochte Lied. So What Does That Mean To The Rest Of Us?

Ryan Lochte's lie shows us that often, lying just makes things worse. If we mess up, it's better to just admit it and take the consequences like a grown-up. If we lie to avoid getting into trouble, we can make a lot more trouble for ourselves, in the long run. And if we don't get caught in our lie, that's even worse. We can start to think that we can get away with more bad behaviour, or that lying like this is acceptable.

Still, what I've realized is that no matter how difficult it is to acknowledge the signs of trouble in our relationships or environment, it's always better to do so.

The Top 10 Lies Kids Tell Their Parents

If you're a parent, you know that your little darlings may not always be telling you the absolute truth. Yes, it's hard to believe, but kids lie. A lot. Just because you've been lied to by your child doesn't mean that it has to continue. It's you against them when it comes to the truth. You're their parent, so you should win.

Why Parents Should Not Vote for Mitt Romney

As a voter there are reasons to cast a ballot for either President Barack Obama or Mitt Romney, but as a parent I honestly can't imagine why any mother or father could vote Romney -- and honesty is the reason. Parents teach by example, by being a person who acts with honesty, forthrightness, integrity and responsibility. These are family values. They are also, of course, are the polar opposite of how Mitt Romney has run his campaign and how he would run the United States of America.
