Every person who's walked through my office door suffering from depression, anxiety, relationship or work problems, low self-esteem or addiction has a history of some type of adversity in their childhood. It's become clear to me by listening to their stories that were it not for these painful events, the person wouldn't be struggling as much as they are, today.

I am urging you to stop settling, don't settle for the job that "pays" enough or gives you that "title" you want, because in the end it will only give short-term happiness. If we stop settling and start fighting for the job/lifestyle we want to invest our years with, we will then get a real sense of happiness and fulfillment.
Who and what belongs in your life during this season? Just like biting into a green fruit or an overly ripe one leaves a bad taste in your mouth, similarly things and people being out of season in your life is not a pleasant experience. It's just not quite right. Resist the urge to hold on to what or who your intuition told you to let go of. Rest in the truth that never leads you astray.
When we have a big vision for ourselves -- and are taking steps toward fulfilling that dream -- it can be time of major transition and growth. When we are in this stage of growth, we need to muster all that we have to make our creative dreams come to fruition. Including our self-confidence. But, often it is not wise to share our vision or dreams with others until we are truly ready to do so. Here's why.
It is wise to be driven by enthusiasm and to have a well thought-out plan to make it happen, and it is certainly nice to fantasize about, but reality has a habit of ensuring that not everything we start in life comes to fruition. Like it or not, accept it or not, it is simply the way it is.
